There are actually valid reasons why some people cannot do certain tasks but well "world people" most times do not want to listen till they end up killing somebody. So let me tell you people small gist. Sometimes my mother chases me out of her kitchen. Not because I did anything wrong but because she doesn't want me to die.
This often happens when she is bleaching oil or frying certain stuff. She knows I have tried to teach my body obedience so I can stay in the kitchen but she realises my breathing struggles and she chases me out.
Now, I went to visit a friend for a few days and on the first morning, she decided to make egg sauce with canned mushrooms and celery. Prior to that day, I had only eaten celery but never cooked with it.
The moment she threw the Celery into the pot, my lungs developed a mind of their own and I started gasping and choking. I ran out of the kitchen and in my head I was like, "they'd now see me as a weak, lazy person".
In January, I moved to a hostel close to school. This hostel will be my abode for a few more weeks or months, depending on some things.
On Tuesday this week, I saw a notice on the wall. It said that there would be a general cleanup on Wednesday and every inhabitant of the hostel must participate. Today is Wednesday and I am here thinking about my life. I know there'd be so much dust around because of this cleanup thingy and I am here thinking of how to tell these people that I might sit this one out seeing that I already woke up with severe chest pain and a little breathing difficulty courtesy my roommate who puts the fan at the highest speed even after I told her that the fan and cold in general makes me sick.
It's always been difficult telling people that I might not be able to do some things because of my health right from highschool. I remember telling a teacher that I could not serve any of the punishments she gave me(for a crime I didn't even commit) because of my health and that was how the story of "Chinenye, the teacher defier" was born in Unical secondary school. She of course walked me out of her class because she thought I was lying.
There's no real point to this post beyond saying, "try not to be the reason why people risk their lives. If someone tells you he/she is sick, let the person be. Don't be judgmental about it or ru**de to the person because of it."
