EQUAL RIGHTS MALADY:
I've heard a lot about the push for equal rights for females as their male counterparts and while I'm in support of it, I think many ladies even those who talk a lot about it, aren't ready for it and these are my reasons:
1. They still want preferential treatment and go on with this talk of "I'm a lady, so I'm entitled to this and that".
2. Few ladies are willing to carry their own financial weight and sort out their issues without looking for a man to push it on to.
3. Many are more into the equal rights of s£xua lity and social behavior (right to consume alco hol and w££d and dress as the choose and go where they choose and talk how they choose) than equal rights of responsibility and accountability. We have to be able to prove that we are responsible and accountable enough to handle the independence that comes with equal rights.
4. Not many ladies still have that balance of beauty, style, and brains. We have gradually shifted to a point where ladies are now judged by their s€xu ality and ability to look "hot" and glamorous rather than their intellectual prowess. If we actually want equal rights then we have to be intellectually sound to be able to match our male counterparts. Innovative ideas rule the world and as it stands when ladies are so consumed with having a favorable standing in s € x and glamor polls, I don't see how innovative ideas that can grow economies and £radicate poverty and corruption can come from these same ladies.

5. Linked with the intellectual aspect is the educational malady. How can ladies who know little or nothing about essential issues that plague our world and have an aversion to real study and research and learning be able to have equal rights with their male counterparts who are well informed and take their educational and mental development seriously? Even if we were given equal rights in all sense of the phrase, many ladies won't even know what it means because they are uninformed and not even willing to seek information.
Whereas we can do better and grow, I strongly believe that for now, a larger percentage of ladies especially in Africa don't have what it takes to practice equal rights and if we really want equal rights, we have to prove that we really deserve it by changing our mentalities and attitudes towards life situations. I STILL BELIEVE WE CAN DO IT. OH YES, WE CAN!
