Every day we get taught by life itself through those around us. These teachings, sometimes come at our own expense; we sacrifice. When someone you acknowledge a friend DENIES payment of a debt he owes you.
If you're able to move on, you do if you want to reclaim your money legally, you do. But still harboring such person as a friend? That, what I wouldn't do at all. Humans differ, you may be able to, but I really can't. But if you decide you can still maintain the friendship, it's like a double-edged sword. He could mistake your endurance and perseverance for stupidity and foolishness.
Hence, attempt to extort more from you. On the other hand, he might get bemused by your action(continuation of the friendship) and that could provoke positive change in him.
It all boils down to our individual differences. And decision making, though this is why friends are important:
a) Good friends can improve your mood. Spending time with positive friends can elevate your mood and boost your outlook.
b) They can reduce your stress and depression. Friends are important for psychological wellbeing.
For you to have an active social life can as well bolster your immune body system, and will really help to reduce the isolation, a major thing that truly contributing factor for depression.
c) A good friend can help you reach your goals whether you are trying to get fit, quit smok!ng/drinking etc.
Encouragement from friends can really boost your will**power and increases your chances of success.
