In Nigeria as a whole and in Anambra State in particular, there is an increasing awareness and demand for quality leadership and good governance spanning all three tiers of government. This has become necessary due to the need for sustainable development cutting across various communities and villages of every State.
Anambra, a State with a big land mass of 4,416sq km, interlocked within States and bordered by Kogi State to the north, Enugu State to the east, Imo, Abia and Rivers states to the south, and Delta and Edo state to the west, with abundant natural and human resources, no doubt needs a visionary and imaginative leader to translate all these into wealth generation and redistribution assets.
Anambra no doubt is blessed with abundant Human capital and Natural resources, and unarguably home to some of Nigeria’s finest intellectuals, core manufacturing firms and largest market in the Sub-Sahara Africa. However, the State’s human, agricultural and industrial potentials are in need of development, for enhanced internally generated revenue, employment creation, socio economic and infrastructural development.
Ndi Anambra from time immemorial has been known for their business prowess in entrepreneurship via manufacturing, trading, importation and exportation of economic goods and services, has also been acclaimed the business and industrial giant of both Nigeria and West African region, of which these establishments are mostly owned by individuals.
There is also no doubt that, it is a herculean task to pilot the affairs of a State like Anambra, bearing in mind the high intellectual capacity and political awareness of Ndi Anambra, however, the sterling leadership qualities needed to steer the ship of governance is imbued not only in the positions held, awards and achievements bagged, but in the value for meaningful life such past or present positions have guaranteed, through purposeful impact.
In entrusting the mandate of the people, the virtues of honour, values, integrity and dedication cannot be seen as unattainable moral principles. These qualities are now more than ever, what is demanded from any aspirant, because it is time to bring about an organized government in light of the challenges of building Anambra beyond its state of infrastructural decadence, to a state of better quality of life, infrastructural and human capital development.
There are a very few of the whole lot jostling for the number one position in Anambra State, who have consistently served the interest of the people and have also consistently shown keen interest in enhancing the quality of life and human capital development of the State. One of these individuals, who possess the virtues of honour, values, integrity, humility and dedication, is one Ndi Anambra need as the next governor of the State.
Soon, almost every street and major roads in Anambra State would be covered with posters and imposing bill boards of both genuine aspirants and those who are out to trade. Hence, the Citizens Mandate Network which has a growing membership network spanning through various clans, villages, communities, towns and local government areas of Anambra State, with a present membership of over 61, 875 valid voters resident in the State (and still growing rapidly), have embarked on sensitization of electorates in every remote part of the state, to value their mandates, by ensuring it is given based on merit to a transformational leader with agricultural, industrial, infrastructural and human capital development as priority for enhanced standard-of-living of Ndi Anambra.
